Slow Rising

I got to add another $520 to our fundraising thermometer, thanks to receiving the money raised at our church’s yard sale last month, AND proceeds from Just Love coffee sales! It’s so exciting every time I get to see that “mercury” slowly rising. Maybe soon, I’ll get to see it jump!

Please, please be in prayer about our fundraising event that’s coming up this Saturday. We’re having a silent auction and art event, featuring lots of gorgeous hand-made items by a variety of amazingly talented people — including the director of our daughter’s orphanage! He sent us 55 original batik paintings that are truly beautiful, as well as 50 handmade Ugandan paper bead necklaces. So this is a perfect opportunity for ethnic art lovers to obtain some original pieces handcrafted in Africa, while helping bring one orphan into her forever home.

We’ll be serving a variety of treats, along with coffee from Just Love, and I’m telling you — if you haven’t tried it yet, you need to. Seriously good stuff, that will make excellent Christmas presents for the Java Heads in your life. Click the link in the right column over there and check it out. We will also have some gifts for auction that include 6-oz. bags of their African coffees. And all purchases made through our link will benefit our adoption fund, too!

If you’re local, post a comment with your email address, and I’ll send you information about how to attend.

And if you can’t come, please pray for high attendance, lots of purchases, and one big giant step toward meeting our fundraising goal.

Thank you!
